It has been reported that the average asking price for a home coming onto the market hit a record high of £307,633 at the beginning of April. This represents a 7.3% annual rise.
The main cause for this appears to be the surge in buy to let investors trying to avoid the stamp duty increases at the end of March, which has pushed prices up. However, the market has been strong for some time now and the growth is showing no signs of slowing down.
It also took an average of 62 days for a property to sell in March, the lowest time for over a year.
All in all some positive signs for the property market!
