Following my previous posts about fraudsters attempting to intercept e-mails between conveyancer and client, it would appear that a new type of fraud may be on the rise.
Reports in Manchester indicate that there have been incidents of fraudsters gluing extra mailboxes onto porches of properties. This is an attempt to fool the unsuspecting delivery person into putting mail into the incorrect box and allowing the fraudster to potentially obtain important bank details and other information.
ActionFraud have issued a warning on the matter so please be vigilant!
Criminals are intercepting mail by gluing extra letter boxes to the outside of houses. According to concerned members of the public in Greater Manchester, criminals are harvesting bank details and other material whilst people are out.
